Where? Who? Equal Concern?

Equal Concern is a ministry available for children, (age 6m-14yrs) of all abilities.  Please check in at the Children's Booth @ door 4 and they will direct you to "Equal Concern."  We are available 10:45a-12:30p Sunday morning.  Parents need to fill out a form & tell a volunteer how your child is doing that day:)

Most Equal Concern Volunteers are First-Aid Certified and come with a variety of personal and professional experiences.  Please be sure to share with us anything you would like us to do for your child such as g-tube feedings, changes, et al.  If you have a PCA or nurse, they are welcome to join us.  We are always looking for excellent helpers who desire to get to know our beautiful kids!  No experience is necessary...just a willingness to learn and love!  Looks great on the resume'.

Team Equal Concern:  Darlene, Grace, Jess, Jim, Jodie, Kristy, Rhonda & Susan...Laugh or cry...they bring it with passion!

Equal Concern

Our goal is to offer children with chronic and ongoing physical or cognitive challenges the opportunity to recognize the love of Christ!  Christ sees the soul...and so do our experienced volunteers.  We wish to learn about each child & their families to provide an enjoyable experience while you are here.  We will do our utmost to provide one-on-one support so every child can learn at whatever ability they are able; including socializing with that child's peer group.  Children will often start & end their morning in the "Equal Concern Room."  In between, they may join their peers for worship, study, or group time.  If a child is unable to join their peers, we develop a learning plan that incorporates play with various forms of communication and range of motion.  Our goal is to teach each child that they are important and valued in God's Kingdom.

Our Vision: What Does God See?

God sees each one of our weaknesses.  Some of us can hide our struggles, our challenges.  We don’t see everyone’s storms.  But God uses our challenges, our disabilities, our weaknesses and He will use them to show His strength.  He uses our weaknesses to perfect and humble each of us.  He uses our weakness so no one can boast, but give the glory to God who can, only then, send a miracle!  He makes us rely on each other because each of us only has some of the gifts he needs to make a miracle happen! This is what God sees. We ALL need a SAVIOR!
