WORSHIP TEAM INFO

Thank You for your interest in serving on one of our worship teams at Emmanuel! Here is a little bit of information about our teams and the process you need to follow to get involved.

PROCESS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Our process is “formally informal.” We typically ask people to be a part of our weekly worship gatherings for three to six months prior to joining the worship team. We want you to feel confident that this is where God wants you to be and that this is, in fact, your church home before you begin serving.
  • We ask that you sit in on a few different rehearsals to get better acquainted with our teams and how they function.
  • Then, fill out the WORSHIP TEAM INTEREST FORM below.
  • Pastor Mark and the worship department will set up a time to sit down with you to get to know you better, to hear you sing/play in a casual and informal setting, and talk to you about our many worship team ministry areas as listed above and where you can best serve.
Currently, our Sunday morning worship teams are on a set rotation and full. However, don’t let that deter you from getting involved. There are many ministries and services within Emmanuel for you to serve on a worship team and we’re always looking for subs as well.

WORSHIP TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Once a part of a team, we choose to run our practices in a rehearsal style. What this means for our team members is that we have high expectations that each individual come to a rehearsal on time and prepared, knowing the music and comfortable with your particular part(s). That way we can spend our time uniting our parts and honing our gifts rather than trying to learn the music.

Rehearsals and expectations for each ministry area will be slightly different and outlined for you once it is determined which ministry area in which you will serve. As a general rule of thumb, rehearsals begin 1-2 hours before the service for which you are scheduled to serve in. Most team members serve about once a month, but this may be more or less based on your availability and the need in the ministry department in which you serve.
